Bitman light

Bitman light is an exercise in typophotography. The idea was to display textual messages through long expo photography. The process is described as follow:

The first step of this process consists of producing a random text using Bitman regular or any other bitmap font. Besides Bitman, I recommend Mini-7.

Because bitmap fonts are constrained to a grid, it is relatively easy to isolate 1 pixel column.

Aligning these columns in a sequence yields in a simple animation like the one below. This simple animation can be (and I personally recommend to be saved as) an animated gif. Once produced, this gif can be published in any browser or loaded into a mobile phone or tablet.

Now, to recover the text, try sweeping your mobile phone camera in front of the gif using a long exposure app.
